What is Naturopathic Medicine?
It’s about more than just using natural substances instead of pharmaceuticals! Naturopathic medicine is a gentle approach to health care, which treats the root cause of a patient’s illness (instead of dealing only with the symptoms) and focuses on prevention. Naturopathic doctors (NDs) provide each patient with an individualized treatment plan that is specific to their needs.

Who is Naturopathic Medicine for? It’s for everyone!

Naturopathic medicine is for anyone who is interested in improving their overall health and well-being, as well as working on preventing future disease.  We treat people of all ages and manage a variety of conditions, including (but not limited to):

  • Digestive complaints (GERD, IBS, IBD, constipation)

  • Respiratory complaints (allergies, asthma, colds)

  • Stress management

  • Depression and anxiety

  • Hormone regulation (acne, infertility, menstrual complaints, menopause)

  • Pain management (arthritis, sports injuries)

  • Healthy eating habits

  • Diabetes

  • Cardiovascular diseases (elevated cholesterol and blood pressure)

What do Naturopathic Doctors do?
We spend time getting to know you!
NDs act as detectives, gathering information from the patient’s medical history, personal history, physical exams, and laboratory testing. We piece together all this information in order to put together a plan that is unique and specific to each patient.

One of the most important things that an ND can do is to simply listen to you, and make you feel respected and heard! In addition to this, naturopathic doctors can use a combination of acupuncture, botanical medicine, nutrition, and counselling to help each patient. Furthermore, NDs are trained to understand pharmaceuticals, ensuring that every treatment we prescribe will be safe and will not interact with a patient’s current medications.
